Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before making a reservation

By completing a booking with Amri Rental, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a reservation.

1. Introduction

Amri Rental ("we", "us", "our") operates a car rental service in Durres, Albania. These Terms of Service govern the rental of vehicles from us, whether booked online through our website or in person at one of our offices.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "Renter") and Amri Rental.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To rent a vehicle from us, you must meet all of the following requirements at the time of pickup:

  • Be at least 19 years of age (certain vehicles require a minimum age of 21 or 25 — see the individual vehicle listing).
  • Hold a valid driving licence that has been held for a minimum of 1 year. International or foreign licences are accepted provided they are valid in Albania.
  • Present a valid passport or national identity document.
  • Possess a valid credit or debit card in your name (required for security deposit authorisation where applicable).
  • Not be disqualified from driving under any applicable law.

We reserve the right to refuse rental to any person who, in our reasonable opinion, does not satisfy these requirements.

3. Booking & Reservation

A booking is confirmed once you have received a booking confirmation email or reference number from us. Confirmation is subject to vehicle availability at the time of booking.

All bookings are made for a specific vehicle category. We reserve the right to provide an equivalent or superior vehicle if the reserved vehicle is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Renter is responsible for ensuring that all information provided at the time of booking is accurate, including pick-up and return dates, times, and locations.

4. Vehicle Collection

You must present the following documents at vehicle collection. Failure to produce any of these may result in the rental being refused without refund:

  • Your confirmed booking reference
  • Your valid driving licence
  • Your passport or national identity document
  • A valid payment card in your name (for deposit purposes where applicable)

Before departure, you and our representative will jointly inspect the vehicle and record its condition. Please ensure you examine the vehicle thoroughly and that all pre-existing damage is documented.

5. Vehicle Return

The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location on or before the agreed return date and time. Late returns will be charged at the applicable daily rate for each additional 24-hour period or part thereof, unless prior arrangements have been made and confirmed in writing.

The vehicle must be returned:

  • In the same condition as collected, subject to fair wear and tear.
  • With the same fuel level as at collection (unless a full-to-full fuel policy was agreed).
  • With all accessories and documents provided at collection.
  • Clean of any excessive dirt, stains, or odours.

6. Permitted and Prohibited Use

The vehicle may only be driven by the named Renter or any additional drivers approved by us and listed on the rental agreement. The vehicle must not be:

  • Used to carry passengers or goods for hire, reward, or any commercial purpose.
  • Used off-road or on terrain for which it is not designed.
  • Driven under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs driving.
  • Used for any illegal purpose.
  • Driven outside the borders of Albania without our prior written consent.
  • Used to tow or push any other vehicle or object.
  • Left unsecured or unlocked when unattended.
  • Smoked in — a cleaning charge of up to €150 applies if the interior shows evidence of smoking.

7. Fuel Policy

Unless stated otherwise, we operate a full-to-full fuel policy. The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, we will charge for the missing fuel at the prevailing local pump price, plus an administration fee.

8. Insurance & Damage

All vehicles are covered by third-party liability insurance as required by Albanian law. Additional insurance options — including Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Kasko (full comprehensive cover) — are available at the time of booking.

If you decline additional insurance cover, you are fully liable for any damage to the vehicle up to its full market value. Even with additional cover, you may remain liable for damage caused by:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Breach of these Terms of Service
  • Deliberate or reckless damage
  • Interior damage (unless Kasko includes interior cover)
  • Damage to tyres, windscreen, roof, or underbody (unless specifically covered)

In the event of an accident, theft, or damage, you must: (a) notify us immediately; (b) report the incident to the police and obtain a written report; (c) not admit liability; (d) obtain details of all parties and witnesses involved.

9. Cancellations & Modifications

Cancellations must be made by contacting us directly by phone or email. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 48 hours before pickup: Full refund of any prepaid amount, minus any applicable processing fees.
  • Less than 48 hours before pickup: No refund is available.
  • No-show: The full rental amount is forfeited.

Date or vehicle changes are subject to availability and may result in a price adjustment. Please contact us as early as possible if you wish to modify your booking.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amri Rental shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of a rental vehicle, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of enjoyment.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a rental shall not exceed the total rental charges paid by you for the relevant rental period.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Durres, Albania.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective upon publication on this page. We encourage you to review these terms regularly. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
